Warlock (Pact of the Blade - House-influenced patron)
Ester Lexia Borialis
Species
Bleachling Gnome
Appearance
Ester is a bleachling gnome whose skin is pale as old parchment with faintly iridescent veins that shimmer like mother-of-pearl when struck by light. Her face is small and angular with sharp cheekbones and a perpetually furrowed brow. Where most gnomes soften their features with expression, Ester's visage is carved from determination and brittle humor. Her hair is cropped short into a jag of platinum spikes that look like paper shreds, and she wears a lamellar cuirass modeled after ancient legionary armor—overlapping plates polished to a cold, dull silver but stained near the breast with faint circles of inked scarification. The lamellar sits oddly on her small frame, rigid and formal, giving her the odd impression of being both formally military and personally self-mutilated. When she moves she uses a dancer's economy of motion—short quick steps, then abrupt stillness. An unexpected element: she hums children’s lullabies under her breath while she sharpens her axe, a discordant tenderness at odds with her ruthless bearing.
“Soft-voiced but precise; chooses words that carry implication rather than explanation. Uses ritual phrases when stressed.”

Distinguishing Features
Network of ritual scarification sigils across her chest and forearms, faintly luminescent
Small Roman-style lamellar armor on a gnome frame
A single, clean vertical scar over her left eyebrow with a tiny stitched rune at the end
Always carries a compact legion-style roundel shield strapped to her back
Voice
“Thin, with a soft rasp; laughter is rare and quick, like a snapped twig”
Clothing
A custom lamellar cuirass cut to gnomish proportions over a dark wool tunic, leather greaves, compact legion-style shield strapped to her back, and a sash carrying vials of black ink. She wears fingerless gloves to reveal the network of healed cuts and rune-scars along her hands and forearms.
Body Language
Closed and precise; she tucks one shoulder forward when listening, fingers often finding her chest-scar sigils to draw comfort. When she prepares a spell her breathing slows and her hands become deliberate, cutting air as if tracing hidden lines.
