Arin Tsal
Species
Human
Appearance
A weathered man who moves like a shadow and an ornament maker at once. His head is shaved in the patchwork pattern of his temple's rites leaving an uneven crown of stubble, and a narrow pale scar runs from the left temple to the jawline like a careful stitch. His skin is smudged here and there with the residue of stone dust and lacquer from his secondary trade. He favors short, deliberate steps and when he walks across a room people notice not the motion but the silence it leaves behind. Unexpectedly he carries a faded child's ribbon tied to his left wrist, bright cerulean against dirt and brown robes, and he smooths it with his thumb when nervous. When he fights his movements become crisp and economical, as if carving space with invisible blades.
“Measured and low with occasional clipped proverbs. He speaks slowly to emphasize small words and will use the listener's name often to anchor attention.”

Distinguishing Features
Patchwork shaved crown of hair
Thin pale scar from temple to jaw
Bright cerulean ribbon tied to the left wrist
Callused fingertips stained with lacquer
Voice
“Low, warm, with a faint rasp from years of inhaling kiln smoke”
Clothing
Simple brown monk robes, a well patched leather apron used for carving, a sash threaded with prayer beads and a small lacquered box of carving tools. Worn soft-soled boots for quiet movement and occasionally a thin leather bracer on the right forearm.
Body Language
He keeps his hands lightly clasped as if in prayer, tilting his head to listen. In conversation he leans forward two-thirds of his body then withdraws the last third, as if measuring whether to commit. In danger his posture tightens into a coiled stance and his gaze narrows to precise points.
