Haeroth moves like someone used to an audience: every step is measured for rhythm and emphasis. He keeps his head tilted slightly to the left as if listening to a private melody. His horns spiral backward in thin, polished ridges that catch tavern lantern light and throw tiny sparks of reflected orange. His tail is wrapped with thin copper bells that jingle in complex patterns when he laughs. Unexpectedly, he keeps a child's patchwork handkerchief tied at the base of his left horn, faded and stitched with a clumsy human name and small dried flowers sewn into its seams.
