Coren Vallar
Bard
Coren Vallar
Species
Human (Port Vallar Heritage)
Appearance
Coren moves like a practiced story — light on his feet, shoulders always angled as if presenting a stage. He favors open collars and shirts cut to show the lines of his throat and chest without ever naming what he means to display; his gestures are deliberately theatrical, fingers splayed, wrists loose. His laughter arrives a beat too late and is always measured. When he stills, the intensity in his gaze makes the people around him lean in. Unexpectedly, beneath the finery he favors his clothes often smell faintly of sea spray and tobacco, and one cuff of his jacket is always patched with a piece of rough burlap — a quiet holdover from a rough night he won't speak of.
“Warm, quick, and polished; he peppers speech with theatrical flourishes and nicknames. When he senses a mark he slows, lowers his voice and turns to teasing intimacy.”

Distinguishing Features
A crescent-shaped scar half-hidden at the nape of his neck
A ring of tiny white dots of old burn scars along his left forearm
A practiced, easy smile that rarely reaches his eyes
A perfume of citrus and ink he uses like a calling card
Voice
“A clear tenor with practiced warmth. It can carry to a crowd without strain and drop to a conspiratorial hush for private suggestions.”
Clothing
Tailored velvet jacket in deep teal lined with silver thread, open white linen shirt, fitted trousers, soft leather boots scuffed at the toes, a low silver signet worn on a chain at his chest, and a brightly embroidered sash he uses as part of his performances.
Body Language
Open, theatrical gestures; he leans forward when listening and uses a practiced tilt of the chin to assert dominance. When nervous, he smooths his shirt instead of making eye contact.
