Miguel Sabella
Commoner (Squire)
Miguel Sabella
Species
Human (Reunian)
Appearance
A broad, rotund man who moves with the cautious economy of someone who has spent decades hoisting sacks and dodging chores. His face is a map of small sunburn scars and worm-eaten laugh lines; his double chin pushes the collar of his shirt into a permanent crease. His hands are thick-fingered and stained by earth and olive oil, with two nails habitually bitten to raggedness. When he walks he favors a slight roll of the belly and a steady, measured gait, but his shoulders tense like a ploughhorse's when trouble appears. Unexpectedly precise when he cleans and sharpens his single family knife — he treats that blade with the reverence of a reliquary.
“Gruff but melodic Reunian accent; favors short, pithy metaphors pulled from farm life. Uses proverbs to deflate arrogance and to teach.”

Alignment
Distinguishing Features
A pale crescent scar along his left eyebrow from an ill-fated goat
Permanent smudge of flour on the tip of his nose
A short gold ring on his right index finger (his wife's), deliberately dull
Voice
“Low, slightly gravelly; laughs loudly and suddenly; can shift to a sharper, high-heat tone when enraged”
Clothing
Faded wool tunic patched with mismatched cloth, a patched leather jerkin that still smells faintly of hay, stout breeches, and mud-caked boots. He wears a battered tabard Alonzo thrust on him once (embroidered with a ridiculous heraldic hare), and keeps a governor's ledger folded into an inner pocket — its corners smeared with grease.
Body Language
Uses a lot of chest-forward posture when asserting authority; rubs his belly when thinking; regularly pats pockets or coins even when none are there
