Malakor Thorne
Grand Archivist / Chronomancer
Malakor Thorne
Species
Timeline-Displaced Human
Appearance
Malakor is a study in unnatural preservation. He stands tall and gaunt, with skin that possesses the texture and pale yellow hue of ancient vellum stretched over an obsidian frame. His eyes are his most jarring feature: they lack pupils, replaced by intricate, rotating gold clockwork gears that spin faster when he is agitated. He does not walk so much as flicker, moving in a series of staccato, micro-teleports that make his presence feel like a poorly edited film reel. Contradicting his dusty, academic aesthetic, he is perpetually surrounded by the sharp, crisp scent of ozone and ozone-heavy mountain air after a lightning strike.
“His speech is clipped and formal, avoiding contractions. He frequently uses mathematical and archival metaphors, such as referring to death as 'de-indexing' or birth as 'data entry.”

Clockwork irises that tick audibly in a silent room
Hands that leave a faint, blurry afterimage when they move
A scar across his throat that glows with blue light when he casts spells
Voice
“Monotone and dry, like the sound of rustling paper, yet with a resonance that vibrates in the listener's marrow.”
Clothing
He wears heavy, multilayered robes of slate gray and deep violet, embroidered with silver threads that seem to writhe like living worms. A heavy sash made of literal iron links hangs from his waist, carrying various hourglasses filled with glowing sands of different colors.
