Tolen Avers
Fighter
Tolen Avers
Species
Human
Appearance
A compact, hard-bitten man who moves like a shepherd used to winding hills. His armored steps are economical and quiet, as if conserving energy for sudden motion. He keeps his shield slightly tilted across his chest at rest, like a folded map. At closer inspection his armor shows careful personal touches: the mail links are rubbed bright on one side from decades of cleaning, and someone has sewn a small strip of sky-blue cloth to the inside of his pauldron. Unexpectedly, his left forearm bears a faded watercolor painting of a small white boat with a red sail - a whimsical contrast to the utilitarian soldier's gear.
“Speaks plainly with a slight river-dialect lilt; uses short, concrete metaphors drawn from ferrying and trade.”

Brightly polished links on only one side of his mail
Small strip of sky-blue cloth sewn inside his pauldron

“Low and steady with a gravelly warmth that softens when speaking of family”

Worn leather under a chain shirt, simple blue linen shirt visible under the armor, faded travel-worn cloak, a strip of sky-blue cloth sewn inside his pauldron, and always a small stitched pouch at his belt that jingles faintly with coins and a single travel token.
Body Language
Holds himself with the economy of someone who has slept outdoors and stood watch; slight forward lean when listening that makes him seem always ready to move.
