Alaric Vaelen
Arcane Forge-Master
Alaric Vaelen
Species
Human
Appearance
Alaric is a striking figure of modern-fantasy elegance, standing tall with an athletic, lean frame and shoulders that seem impossibly wide for his lithe build. His skin is a pale olive, though it is bisected by a horrific mark of history: four jagged parallel claw scars that start high on his forehead, slice through the permanently closed lid of his blinded left eye, and continue down his neck and chest to terminate at his navel. His remaining right eye is a piercing robin egg blue, swirling with golden amber flecks that glow when he works his craft. His hair is a shimmering silver, shot through with deep, dark rose highlights, slicked back with professional precision though several rebellious strands often fall over his forehead. He moves with a liquid, rhythmic grace, as if the air around him is a medium he is constantly shaping. He is almost always surrounded by a dozen floating longswords, which move in swirling, dance-like arcs in response to the subtle gestures of his hands, trailing wisps of elemental energy and arcane vapor.
“His speech is rhythmic and precise, punctuated by musical metaphors and a slight metallic resonance in his chest. He rarely raises his voice, preferring to let the hum of his blades provide the necessary intimidation.”
