Esmeralda Karstein
Artificer (Battle Smith/Armorer hybrid feel)
Esmeralda Karstein
Species
Astellian Human
Appearance
Tall and poised, Esmeralda moves like a conductor guiding an orchestra. Her long white hair is usually braided into a single rope that falls to her lower back, threaded with tiny bronze rings and a single battered rune-etched gear near the end. Her hourglass silhouette is emphasized by a form-fitting battlesuit of matte black fabric that gleams like oiled steel when it catches light; white vein-like seams trace along her shoulders, across her chest, and over her narrow waist as if someone painted lightning along cloth. She favors long opera gauntlets that stop just below sculpted deltoids separated by clean white stripes, and a white belt with X-shaped straps tied at her hips. Her pointé shoes look impractical on cobblestones but she wears them with perfect balance. Unexpected element: her left forearm bears a child's crude stitched embroidery of a small ship and three stars, sewn under her gauntlet and visible only when she rolls up her sleeve, a private softness against the crisp sharpness of her uniform.
“Concise and technical; uses metaphors from engineering and sea travel. When angry words sharpen into short, punctuated commands.”

Distinguishing Features
long white braided hair threaded with bronze rings
white vein-like seams on black battlesuit
stitched child's embroidery hidden on left forearm
a small rune-etched gear pendant always tucked at her collar
Voice
“Low, even, and slightly metallic at the edges from years of speaking over clanging hammers; it grows soft and almost musical when she speaks of her daughters.”
Clothing
Black form-fitting battlesuit with white vein seams, white X-strap belt, long opera gauntlets with white separators, pointé shoes; in workshop she adds a heavy leather smith's apron covered in burn marks and tiny pockets.
Body Language
Controlled, economical gestures; often gestures with her fingertips as if sketching schematics in the air. When angry she tenses the muscles along her jaw and taps tiny rhythms on nearby metal surfaces.
