Edmund Varyth
Species
Human (bashiri)
Appearance
Edmund moves like someone trying to match stories he admires: deliberate, upright, and a little theatrical. He is almost too clean for a rebel — his knuckles show calluses from sword practice, but his fingernails are kept tidy, and a pale handkerchief is always folded into his pocket. His clothes are a patchwork of noble tailoring and mended peasant work: a faded crimson tabard once bearing his house crest is stitched onto a plain brown doublet. When he smiles, it brightens his entire face; when he is frightened, he ducks his chin as if expecting a knight to scold him. Unexpectedly, he has a faint smear of charcoal at the edge of his right ear, as if he often leans into hearths to listen. The overall impression is of a boy trying to be a man in stories — earnest, slightly out of place, and quietly stubborn.
“Polished but attempts simplicity when with peasants. Uses honorifics when addressing soldiers or nobles but avoids empty flattery.”

Distinguishing Features
Small crescent-shaped scar on left eyebrow from a childhood fencing reply
A thin pale burn mark along the inside of his wrist (from a candle ritual his mother performed)
A faded hunting badge of House Varyth stitched inside his cloak
Voice
“Clear, young but steady; liable to rise on the last word of a sentence when excited. He has a habit of softening words when speaking to frightened children.”
Clothing
A patched crimson tabard over a nubbly wool doublet, patched breeches, leather boots with one heel replaced, a plain linen shirt, and a worn grey cloak with the hem singed in one place. He wears his father's simple brass signet on a leather cord.
Body Language
Keeps an erect posture learned from formal lessons, but tucks his chin in moments of doubt. He uses small, precise gestures rather than broad ones.
