Species

Appearance
A compact woman who moves like a cat that learned to keep people's secrets. Her skin is freckled and weathered from sun and smoke. She keeps a jagged braid of silvered hair looped and pinned with an iron thimble, and a smear of soot that always lives at the corner of her jaw. When she walks she rocks slightly on the balls of her feet, like a person used to shifting loads. Unexpectedly, her left ear is pierced with a string of tiny glass beads that clink when she laughs. Her hands are scarred in neat parallel lines from when she was apprenticed to a cooper.
“Soft, low, and peppered with proverbs. Speaks quickly when excited and then slows to measured syllables when making a point.”

Distinguishing Features
Right hand missing two fingertips with neat leather sheaths where the tips were
A permanent smear of soot at the left jawline
Small glass bead earrings that tinkle with movement
Voice
“A low, smoky voice with a quick laugh. Tends to soften vowels when speaking to someone in pain.”
Clothing
Sturdy leather apron over a faded wool dress, patched trousers beneath, a faded blue neckerchief stained with herbs, and a pair of well-worn traveling boots with extra stitching over the left toes.
Body Language
Keeps one palm open and angled downward when listening, as if offering a place for words to rest. When threatened she tucks her chin and narrows her shoulders, like pulling in a load.
