Ser Auren Valis
Fighter (Champion)
Ser Auren Valis
Species
Newcean Human
Appearance
Tall and broad-shouldered with windblown chestnut hair cropped to stay out of his eyes. He moves with a soldier's measured economy—quick to plant a foot, slow to overextend. His chain shirt is always meticulously cared for, links buffed to a muted gleam, though the cuffs of it and his once-polished boots still show the scuff and salt stains of long dock patrols. A small bronze token of the Divine One's sigil, Cambridgere, hangs at his throat; the center is worn mirror-smooth from years of rubbing it in the same nervous thumb motion. When he relaxes, an unknowable tension in his jaw slackens for only a breath before he straightens again. Contradictory to his severe bearing is a faintly childish habit: he keeps a battered wooden toy boat tucked in the inside pocket of his surcoat, a secret comfort from childhood.
“Formal and slightly staccato, favoring short declarative sentences; uses phrases from liturgy when stressed; softens to a hushed tone with trusted allies..”

Distinguishing Features
Bronze Cambridgere token polished smooth at the center
A faint white scar along his left forearm from a dock skirmish
Small carved wooden toy boat hidden in his inner pocket
Salt-crusted cuffs on otherwise immaculate chain links
Voice
“Clear, disciplined tenor that tightens when he becomes anxious; rarely raises it but when he does it carries authority.”
Clothing
Chain shirt beneath a plain, well-stitched surcoat in the Church blue; a weathered leather belt holding a short spear and a utility knife; scuffed calf-high boots; a plain hooded cloak for rains; the bronze Cambridgere token on a cord at his neck.
Body Language
Square-shouldered alignment, habitual hand on his token, steps measured and deliberate; when lying or hiding something he avoids eye contact and fiddles with the toy boat.
