Lucky Oakes
Ranger
Lucky Oakes
Species
Dwarf
Appearance
Broad-shouldered and barrel-chested with the dense, coiled musculature of a lifetime of digging and hauling. Lucky's beard is a braided, tangled thing threaded with green leaves, seed pods and tiny living sprouts that occasionally bloom with small flowers. His skin is weathered and freckled, like bark in places, and he wears a battered coyotie skull sculpted and blackened atop his left shoulder like a living pauldron. He moves with surprising lightness for his size: a clip of quick, careful steps when tending beds; an abrupt, animalible lunge the moment anger sparks. Contradiction follows him: his hands are perpetually stained with soil yet adorned with delicate floral tattoos that seem to open when watered.
“Speaks in a booming, rough dwarven brogue softened by lyrical druidic turns; fond of plant metaphors and sudden exclamations.”

Distinguishing Features
Coyotie skull shoulder guard
Beard threaded with living sprouts and flowers
Left ear deaf
Floral tattoos that darken when he waters them
Voice
“Loud, gravelly, and warm; laughter like a stone rolling downhill; voice softens to a low hum when speaking to plants”
Clothing
Wears layered, patched tunics and leather brigandines hidden beneath draped furs and animal skins. A coyotie skull serves as a shoulder guard on the left; around his waist hang pouches of seed, dried herbs, and a gardener's belt filled with small knives and bone tools. Despite the bulk he favors a green scarf embroidered with tiny silver acorns.
Body Language
He leans toward plants as if listening, fingers splayed to feel air currents; when annoyed he clenches both fists and scratches his left ear with a thumb and the tip of a rootlike nail.
