Kael moves like someone used to moving through trees. He walks lightly, feet barely scuffing the ground, and when he pauses his gaze scans like a hawk locking on prey. His skin carries the faint, sun-weathered freckling of a life outdoors. He keeps his hair in uneven braids tied back with strips of leather and bone; one braid is deliberately dyed a washed teal, a color that clashes with his otherwise muted garb. On his left forearm is a faded tattoo of an interlaced oak and crescent moon, the ink blurred where it meets an old burn scar that puckers like dried bark. When he speaks he halves the distance between words with little chuckles, then often goes quiet for long stretches when remembering something private.
