Appearance
Kestrel stands with a stiff, military posture that contradicts his soft, downy appearance. His face is startlingly human except for his massive, unblinking amber eyes and a nose that tapers into a sharp, keratinous point. Feathers the color of autumn wood sprout from his hairline and travel down his neck, disappearing into his stiff high collar. He moves with a jerky, precise mechanical grace, and when he turns to address someone, his head often rotates much further than a human's could, usually accompanied by a soft rustle of hidden pinions. He smells faintly of ozone and old parchment.
