Calder Thornwright
Ranger
Calder Thornwright
Species
Half-elf
Appearance
Calder moves like someone who has spent decades reading landscapes: every step measured and deliberate. He wears a sleeveless leather coat patched with pieces of different hunts and expeditions; each patch stitched with a different colored thread. His left forearm bears a faded map tattoo that wraps like ivy and hides inked notations visible only on close inspection. His right hand is scarred across the knuckles from an old rope burn; when he reaches for an arrow he thumps the scar with his thumb in a small ritual. Unexpectedly, he carries a child's ribbon tied to the inside of his coat collar, soft and almost ceremonial against his otherwise rough gear, and he often smooths it on anxious nights.
“Gruff but precise, uses directional metaphors and occasionally slips into affectionate nicknames for landmarks.”

Thin white scar across right knuckles
Child's ribbon tied inside coat collar

Sleeveless weathered leather coat with mismatched patches, a faded green hooded jerkin beneath, worn hunter's breeches, high boots with mud and tar stains, leather bracers etched with tally marks, and a dark scarf he uses as a blindfold or bandage when needed.

Calder habitually keeps his shoulders rolled forward slightly as if bracing for a wind; he tilts his head when listening and tends to point with his chin rather than hand.
