Harken Voss
Mercenary captain
Harken Voss
Species
Human
Appearance
Scarred, weathered, and efficient in movement. Harken wears his hair cropped close on the sides with a longer, braided top-knot that swings when he turns. The left side of his face is marred by an old burn that puckers the skin and leaves a faint white crescent following his jaw. He favors heavy boots that leave crisp, square prints and a coat of patched leathers covered in faded unit marks and a hand-stitched sigil of Snagtooth Fork. Around his neck he keeps a warped bronze token engraved with an old caravan sigil. When he walks he moves like someone who expects danger from any angle yet chooses when to show exhaustion. Unexpected element: despite his rough exterior he has a small embroidered handkerchief tucked into his belt with a childish doodle on it kept from his lost son.
“Gruff, economical, clipped words with an undertone of river cant and merchant slang.”

Puckered burn scar along left jaw forming a white crescent
Missing tip of right index finger replaced by a crude metal cap
Small embroidered childlike doodle on a handkerchief tucked in his belt
Voice
“Deep, slightly rasping with the cadence of a man used to shouting over wind and water”
Clothing
Layered patched leather cuirass, heavy wool shirt, a greatshield slung across his back with the dents of many battles, travel-stained cloak with the lower hem reinforced by scavenged chain links. Small pouches and a coiled rope hang from his belt. A faded green scarf from a lost lover is knotted inside the cloak lining.
Body Language
Stiff neck, shoulders squared, a habit of leaning on his shield like it's a walking cane. When listening closely he narrows his eyes and taps two fingers against his palm in a rhythm used to signal rank to his men.
