Mara Tobben
Bard
Mara Tobben
Species
Human
Appearance
Mara moves like a woman who has spent equal parts of her life tending bar and eavesdropping. Her shoulders are squared from years of lifting casks, but her fingers are long and callused at the tips, adept at flipping a coin or strumming a lute. She favors practical posture yet has a habit of tilting her head when listening, which makes the left side of her face appear softer. Unexpectedly, the cuff of her right sleeve is embroidered with a tiny, neat constellation of faded gold thread, a remnant from a life she rarely speaks of.
“Measured, peppered with salt-of-the-coast idioms. She shortens sentences when impatient and uses softening phrases when asking favors.”

Faded constellation embroidery on the right sleeve cuff
A thin white scar slicing the outer edge of her left eyebrow
A small blackened smudge of soot near her collarbone from the ledger fire
Voice
“Warm alto, voice like well-aged oak; can sharpen into a steel edge when angry”
Clothing
Sturdy linen blouse with oil-sheen patches, leather waist-apron with multiple pockets, a faded green travel scarf pinned with a brass ledger charm, and boots that are scuffed on the left toe. She wears a thin silver ring on her left thumb that is intentionally plain.
Body Language
Mara leans forward when someone speaks of trouble and withdraws slightly when praise becomes too effusive. She taps her fingers in a light, rhythmic pattern when thinking and wipes her palms on her apron to calm herself when upset.
