Bimblewock Thimblequill
Species
Gnome (Rock Gnome)
Appearance
Bimblewock is a compact, energetic gnome with a perpetual ink-smudge crescent on the left side of his jaw, as if he once kissed a pen. He moves like a pocket whirlwind: quick feet, hands that never stop arranging invisible stacks, and a habitual lean forward when listening. His coat is always dusted in powdered paper and gilt leaf, and a pair of brass-rimmed spectacles perches on a narrow nose so often they leave faint indentations. Unexpectedly, the right sleeve of his coat is longer and more worn than the left; beneath it he hides a small, well-oiled mechanical caliper that ticks softly whenever he’s nervous. Up close he smells faintly of old paper, citrus peel, and the metallic tang of ink.
“Polished, quick, and punctuated by parenthetical remarks. He enjoys appositions and will correct an ill-used word gently.”

“High and quick, with a practiced cadence like someone reading aloud from a play. He softens consonants when coaxing secrets and becomes clipped when on the defensive.”

Body Language
Fidgets with his spectacles when thinking, straightens spines of books as if reassuring them, and inclines his head forward when listening as if bridging a gap of two pages.
