Appearance
Gale moves like someone used to hauling and bargaining rather than dancing. He wears a battered leather apron over a collared shirt whose sleeves are always rolled to just below the elbow. His hands are broad, callused, and stained with oil and gunmetal. A long vertical scar runs from his left temple to the cheekbone, pale against weathered skin. He favors practical boots with iron toes that clack on flagstone when he walks. Around his neck he keeps a thin copper chain with a flattened coin from Riverforge hammered into it. Unexpectedly, he always has a small sprig of dried rivergrass tucked behind his ear, swaying when he tilts his head.
“Measured and economical. Uses pauses to let others state their terms.”

Distinguishing Features
Long vertical scar along left face
Copper coin flattened into a pendant
Dried rivergrass behind his ear
Voice
“Low, gravelly, and even. He enunciates as if reading ledger lines and softens when comforting someone.”
Clothing
A patchworked leather apron with many pockets layered over a faded collared shirt, reinforced trousers, heavy iron-toed boots, and a weathered traveling cloak for meetings in bad weather. Wears a pair of brass-rimmed spectacles that slide down his nose when he reads contracts.
Body Language
Minimal and precise. Gesture economy is high - he tilts his head to listen and points with the knuckle of his index finger rather than the whole hand. When lying he cleans his fingernails with a pocket file slowly.
