Aelira Varethil
Ranger
Aelira Varethil
Species
Elf (Silvan)
Appearance
Aelira moves like wind through reed: long, deliberate strides punctuated by sudden stillness. Her hair is waist-length and pale as sun-bleached wheat, usually braided into a loose plait threaded with bone beads taken from creatures she tracked. She wears a tiny patchwork of tanned leather — a cuirass that leaves her belly and long legs exposed — so her skin gleams amber in sunlight and carries thin, silvery scars from thorn and barbed-wire hunts. Her boots are soft, the soles worn into whisper-silent pads. Unexpectedly, she favors a child's yellow ribbon tied around her left wrist, bright and cheerful against the hunter's practical gear, and she keeps a tiny bell hidden under her breastplate that she only rings to announce ritual beginnings. Up close, there is a scent of pine, river mud, and pressed herbs.
“Concise and layered — speaks in short, image-rich sentences. Uses tracking metaphors (rift, spoor, waterline) and tends to describe people by what they leave behind.”

Distinguishing Features
A thin braided scar, pale and silvery, coils from her left hip to her ribs like a hunting mark
Bone beads woven into her hair: one for each major prey she tracked to its end
A child's yellow ribbon tied to her wrist — incongruous and well-worn
A hidden pocket sewn into her belly band containing a tiny folded paper with a name written in a child's hand
Voice
“Clear, midrange voice with a smooth cadence; a faint river-shell lilt from her homeland; rarely raises volume but is piercing when she chooses to be heard.”
Clothing
Tiny fitted leather cuirass (breast showed), high-slit leather skirt that leaves thighs exposed for easy movement, thigh-wraps with pockets, soft-leather boots, a moss-green hooded cloak for concealment, and several satchels of field gear hung at her hip
Body Language
Keeps a low center of gravity; defaults to facing exits and open terrain; fingers rhythmically trace the edge of her quiver when thinking; stands very still while listening.
