Ranger (Hunter archetype)
Nikodim Schultz
Species
Human (Borderlander)
Appearance
Nikodim moves with the slow deliberation of someone used to waiting for the land to speak. His clothes are carefully mended but not ornamented; the stitching runs in precise parallel lines. He favors an earth-toned jerkin over a fitted shirt whose sleeves are always rolled to the same point on his forearm. His longbow sits in a worn leather scabbard across his back, the wood polished to a warm matte by decades of travel in his family (and by his own habit of rubbing it when thinking). When he walks he plants each foot as if testing the ground’s reply; he rarely rushes, yet when he does he is startlingly fast and accurate. An unexpected contradiction: despite living rough, he carries a small porcelain teacup strapped inside his pack—clean, intact, and delicately painted with a single blue finch. That cup is the only thing he refuses to otherwise touch in public. He gives the impression of someone older than he is: patient, precise, and quietly amused by disorder.
“Measured, almost professorial; uses precise nouns, frequent pauses to consider, and refers to natural signs as if they were grammar ("The fox's path is the comma here; the overturned stone, a period.").”

a thin, pale scar along his left thumb where a hunting arrow nicked him in childhood
a thumb-sized burn mark on his forearm that he traces when remembering a hard lesson
a carved wooden finch worn like a pendant
keeps an old traveler's map rolled and tied with green twine on his belt

“Measured, thin, and slightly reedy; he speaks slowly with precise consonants and an undercurrent of dry humor.”
Clothing
faded forest-green jerkin with leather reinforcements, dark trousers, soft-soled boots, a hooded cloak mottled to look like lichen and leaf litter, thin leather gloves with fingertips worn through
Body Language
He tilts his head slightly when listening, traces small patterns with his finger on any flat surface, and is careful to keep personal space; when interacting with animals he closes his eyes briefly as if listening with more than sight.
