Appearance

Thalira moves like someone who learned to keep her balance on narrow rafters: deliberate, almost catlike, but with a musician's grace in her hands. She favors a slate-gray travel cloak lined with hidden pockets; when the cloak is open, a patchwork of faded city maps stitched into a soft leather vest is visible. Her left forearm bears a faint network of pale scars that curve like a constellation. She often tucks a tiny brass compass into her hair so it peeks above her right ear. Unexpectedly, when startled or amused, she hums a cheerful sea shanty — an odd habit for a landlocked courier — that contradicts her otherwise meticulous demeanor.

Height5'8" (1.73 m)
BuildLean and wiry, sinewy more than muscular
EyesMoss green with a golden speck in the right iris
HairDeep black with two thin streaks of silver near the right temple
SkinOlive with freckled bridge of the nose

Speaks in short, precise sentences; uses cartographic metaphors ("we'll skirt the shoal of rumor") and occasionally slips into an old lullaby her mother sang. Her tone is quiet but firm; she is quick with a dry, wry aside when comfortable.”

Distinguishing Features

Faint pale scar pattern on left forearm that resembles a map grid

Brass compass tucked into hair above right ear

Two silver streaks in hair at right temple

Golden speck in right iris

Voice

Low, calm, and measured; carries a slight inland accent with musical lilt when she hums. Voice is dependable rather than commanding.

Clothing

Layered practical travel clothes: a close-fitting dark wool shirt, knee-leather boots worn soft, patched corduroy trousers, a battered leather belt with pouches, and her signature slate-gray cloak embroidered with small map lines in faded blue thread.

Body Language

Tends to keep one hand near her belt or map case; when thinking she rubs the corner of a paper between thumb and forefinger. She avoids direct confrontation by angling her shoulders away, ready to slip between people.
