Ser Aldric Halven
Fighter (Battle Master)
Ser Aldric Halven
Species
Human
Appearance
A man whose presence shrinks a tavern into a quiet map room. He moves with a measured, almost architectural economy. His chain mail is softened and oiled rather than polished, as if he cared more that the links moved than that they shone. A single, patched surcoat with the faint crest of a riverbank order hangs at his hip; the patch is newer than the cloth. He favors a battered travel cloak that smells faintly of cedar and stale wine. He nearly always holds one hand against a folded, stained parchment map tucked into his breast, his thumb tracing routes he does not speak of. Unexpectedly, tucked into his helmet crease when he removes it, there is a child's small brass toy horse with one missing leg that he occasionally fingers absentmindedly.
“Measured, with long pauses between clauses; he rarely raises his voice.”

Distinguishing Features
Thin pale scar running from left ear to jawline
Callused left thumb from tracing maps
Small brass toy horse kept in his helmet crease
Voice
“Low, slightly gravelly; each sentence begins soft and grows firmer as he leans into the point”
Clothing
Worn chain mail partially covered by a patched surcoat; a travel cloak with inner pockets; well-oiled leather boots; plain linen shirt; a faded river-keeper's scarf tied as a headband when he bathes the maps at night
Body Language
He keeps his shoulders angled away from others as if to leave escape routes; when thinking he taps the base of his thumb against his palm in slow, even beats; in conversation he leans forward no more than a breath and watches eyes rather than mouths.
