Appearance
Veylan is the picture of a man who has been drafted by the land onto his own skin. His face is narrow and weathered with the deliberate calm of a surveyor who never cares to hurry. Map-like lines run over his scalp, down his neck, and across his forearms. Those lines are faintly iridescent and shift like living ink when he listens or speaks. He walks as if testing the slope of every step, heels light and unhurried, with a tendency to pivot as though tracing an invisible grid. Unexpectedly he wears a child's patched glove on his right hand that smells faintly of cedar and old bread. In sunlight the lines along his skin sparkle like wet cartography. At night, the lines glow the color of moss.
“Measured and soft, punctuated by technical cartographic terms and sudden poetic metaphors about land as a sleeping thing.”

Distinguishing Features
Shifting map-lines etched under the skin that glow faintly in darkness
Child's patched glove worn on the right hand
A faint mossy scent that clings to him even indoors
Voice
“Low, dry, and resonant with an undertone of wind through leaves”
Clothing
A long traveler's coat pieced from maps and hides, inner pockets filled with scraps of parchment, a hood lined with mossy fabric, a sash of braided rivercords, and leather boots softened by decades of walking. He wears a belt of copper pins shaped like compass points. One glove is a mismatched child's glove patched to his sleeve.
Body Language
His hands constantly trace invisible grids or tap at the lines on his skin. He tilts his head as if listening to distant landscapes. When excited he will close his eyes and hum the cadence of a path.
