Eldra Wayward
Head Druid and Keeper of the Arbor
Eldra Wayward
Species
Elf
Appearance
Eldra moves like a wind through leaves: slow, purposeful, and always offset by a barely perceptible sway as if listening to a root-song only she can hear. Her ceremonial robes are woven from living layers of young bark and moss; the bark curls and tightens with her breath and loosens to let in light when she smiles. Fingers are long and ink-stained with plant resins; knuckles are flecked with tiny calluses where she grafts and stitches new growth. The left ear bears a thin silver cuff shaped like a crescent moon; the right eyebrow has two white streaks — old burn scars from a lightning-blasted oak she failed to save. When still, a scent of rain, crushed nettle, and woodsmoke clings to her. Unexpectedly, Eldra always carries a small bone flute tucked into her belt — a relic from an exiled river-kin she befriended — and she will sometimes hum pauses in conversation as though answering it.
“Soft, measured, and lyrical; she uses botanical metaphors freely, weaving them into proverbs. When excited she speaks faster but never loudly.”

Distinguishing Features
Two white streaks above right eyebrow (old burn scars)
Living bark robe that moves subtly as if breathing
Bone flute always at her belt
Small tendon scar on left forearm in the shape of a thorn
Voice
“Soft alto, like pages turning under rain; when excited it warms like a sunlit glade, when furious it becomes low and creaking like old wood.”
Clothing
Ceremonial robes of braided living bark and woven moss, a cloak that sheds dew, leather pauldrons made from cured vine-skin for ritual travel, fingerless gloves with seeds sewn into the palms, and soft boots that make no sound. Her hood is embroidered with actual tiny seedlings that sprout in spring.
Body Language
Inclines forward as if leaning into plant-speech, hands often cupped as if holding soil; when upset she presses a palm to a tree trunk and will not look at others.
