Jalut Shir
Barbarian
Jalut Shir
Species
Half-Giant
Appearance
Jalut fills the doorway like a falling column. He moves with surprising speed for someone of his size, each stride slapping the earth with a soft, bone-deep thump. His skin bears the pale, stony freckling common to mountain-bred folk; a faded compass-rose tattoo curls behind his left ear. He favors a cropped braided beard interwoven with tiny iron rings taken from enemy standards. One unexpected detail is that he wears a child's red ribbon tied to the haft of his greataxe, frayed and filthy, which he flinches to protect as if it were a living thing. When calm his shoulders relax and he lumbers with the careful rhythm of an old soldier; when angered his whole frame tightens and he becomes all compact coiled weight and sudden direction.
“Loud, clipped sentences with occasional northern idioms and a soldier's cadence. Uses 'coward' as a go-to insult but uses it with different sharpness depending on context.”

Distinguishing Features
Nine-foot-plus height and a cropped, braided beard with iron rings
A long, faded scar across his brow from a head injury
A child's frayed red ribbon tied to his greataxe haft
Voice
“Booming and rough, with an easy laugh that can turn into a bark. When tired his voice grinds into a thin, tired rasp.”
Clothing
A patched officer's surcoat dyed imperial blue, leather harness, heavy wool cloak trimmed with fur from northern hunts, and a battered officer's gorget marked with campaign etchings. His boots are oversized and double-stitched; inside the left boot is a folded scrap of paper with a child's handwriting.
Body Language
Jalut favors large, open gestures that create space around him. He plants his feet when speaking and leans forward when listening. When embarrassed he rubs the scar above his brow until his hand trembles.
