Maristh Ael'run
Warlock (Hexblade) - Pact of the Blade
Maristh Ael'run
Species
Half-Elf (riverborn)
Appearance
Maristh moves like someone used to balancing on wet planks: economical, sure-footed, a little cocked to compensate for unsteady decks. He is usually smeared with a mix of pitch and ink; the pitch forms thin black filigree along the creases of his knuckles. His left forearm is sheathed in a lattice of carved, silvered wire beneath his sleeve — a protective brace and a focus for his binding rites. His right eye is a glassy blue-green 'stormglass' replacement, faintly veined with gold, that catches light like sea-water. Unexpectedly, fine white barnacle-like growths cluster under his jaw and behind his ear — harmless but oddly preserved, like a keepsake tide. When he walks, he hums low, half-memorized shanties that stop mid-line whenever someone watches him.
“Gravelled voice with maritime turns of phrase; when concerned he shortens words and speaks in imperative fragments. Often uses nautical metaphors and half-rhymed couplets.”

Distinguishing Features
Glass 'storm' eye with gold veining
Barnacle-like calcifications beneath the left ear and along jaw
Calluses nicked by dozens of small ritual cuts
A faint burn-shaped scar that curls like a wave along the left collarbone
Voice
“Low and rasping like a rope dragged over timber; tones rise into unexpected tenderness when he speaks of Ilenna or apprentices.”
Clothing
A battered navy coat lined with oilcloth, rolled sleeves, a faded bandanna tied at the nape, patched trousers, and a waist-belt full of miniature chisels and ritual knives. He wears a simple bronze torque engraved with waves and a small, half-polished wooden ship pinned to his breast like a brooch.
Body Language
Always keeps one hand near his belt or the carved model; tilts his head toward sounds of water; closes his eyes when listening to others as if reading tides rather than faces.
