Bran 'Ironhand' Marrec
Commoner
Bran 'Ironhand' Marrec
Species
Half-Orc
Appearance
Bran moves like a man used to swinging hammers and shifting bellows: economical, weight-shifting steps, one shoulder slightly higher from years of levering anvils. He is usually streaked with soot in a deliberate diagonal band across his face, as if he wipes along a particular line to keep his vision clear. His forearms are layered in old burn scars and pale rings of metal where warped pieces sat too long; when he works, his veins stand out like knotted cords. Unexpectedly, he keeps a single braided ribbon of green silk tied to his hammer's haft — bright, clean, and oddly out of place amid the grime. His movements are precise but slow to smile; when he does, there is a surprising gentleness that contrasts with his brutish appearance.
“Gruff and economical; uses short sentences, often omitting polite niceties. Frequently uses smithing metaphors ('Let the steel tell you its weight,' 'Don't temper your words').”

Distinguishing Features
Missing the tip of his right ear (old fight / factory accident ambiguity)
A vertical burn scar running from wrist to elbow on his left forearm decorated with tiny hammered lines he himself added
A brass tooth in the front (vivid, polished), visible when he laughs
Wrist-strengthened prosthetic plate on his right palm — a thin iron palm attached under the skin (hence 'Ironhand')
Voice
“Low, gravelly, with a softening rasp at the edges. He speaks slowly, choosing weighty nouns and blunt verbs. When he laughs it is a short exhale, followed by a rare, wide grin.”
Clothing
Thick leather smock laced with iron rivets, soot-dark linen shirt, heavy leather apron reinforced with hammered plates at chest and thighs, sturdy boots with metal caps. He wears a belt of handy pouches and a short, cloth wrapped satchel for sketches and receipts.
Body Language
Small, purposeful gestures; he points with his hammer, folds his arms across his chest like a block of metal when displeased, and tends to lean in close when listening.
