Icchast Vaelthar
Paladin (Oathbreaker of Latender)
Icchast Vaelthar
Species
Light Genasi
Appearance
Icchast moves like a storm grown tired: purposeful, deliberate, each footfall muffled by well-worn boots. His full plate is oddly polished in places and deeply scratched in others; the breastplate bears a ragged oval of gouges where a holy sigil was once burned off, the metal discoloration around it still faintly warm to the touch — as if the symbol was removed not long ago. Wisps of pale, almost-white light drift under his skin and flicker across armor seams like tiny, contained lightning. A heavy shield is chained to his left arm by a short length of blackened iron links; scars in the shield mirror the scratches on his breastplate. He carries a longsword whose black pommel is bound with shackles; small, rusted chains run from the pommel to a ring that loops through the scabbard’s throat, preventing the blade from being drawn without deliberate effort. Contradiction: though his visage suggests iron certainty, a thin trail of salt-white ash clings to his boots and the cuffs of his gauntlets, vestiges of incense and ritual rather than battle.
“Measured, low timbre; uses formal phrasing and occasional liturgical words even when angry; softens to a gentle warmth when consoling the hurt..”

Distinguishing Features
Gouged circle on the breastplate where the church symbol was removed
Chains from sword pommel to scabbard; sword is deliberately hard to draw
Soft, internal luminescence visible under the skin in dim light
Thin burn scars along his throat — ritual branding rather than battlefield wounds
Voice
“Low, resonant and slightly roughened by years of chanting; carries a faint echo on certain words as if a chapel responds.”
Clothing
Beneath the plate he wears a charred-gray tabard that was once white and embroidered with Latender's sigil; the embroidery has been crudely cut away and restitched into an unfamiliar knot. Leather straps, a few pouches, a battered prayer book bound in smoke-darkened leather, and a length of rope with a brass token hang at his belt.
Body Language
Keeps one hand near the chained pommel and turns slightly toward exits when uncomfortable; stands with shield angled forward as if always on guard.
