Barendir Coppervein
Commoner
Barendir Coppervein
Species
Dwarf
Appearance
Barendir is a squat, broad-shouldered dwarf standing just over 4 feet tall, with skin weathered like well-aged leather. His coppery-red beard is thick and braided with tiny iron rings shaped like anvils, a craftsman’s pride, but his eyes — a startling pale silver — gleam with restless intelligence. His movements are deliberate yet surprisingly light on his feet, almost catlike, contradicting his stout frame. He always wears a soot-darkened leather apron over a worn woolen tunic embroidered with faint, almost faded runes. When he moves behind the tavern bar, he does so with the grace and precision of someone who has spent decades mastering rituals of service rather than war. An ever-present faint scent of burnt pine and aged ale clings to him, strangely comforting. Oddly enough, he frequently hums an ancient dwarvish lullaby under his breath, a habit that contrasts with his gruff voice.
“Gruff but warm; deep-set tones with a slow, deliberate cadence. Uses dwarvish idioms and occasionally slips into his native tongue when passionate or emotional.”
