King Alvarin Thessal
Battlelord (Fighter 3 / Noble 2 — Commander archetype)
King Alvarin Thessal
Species
Human
Appearance
Alvarin moves like a man who has spent decades practicing both ceremony and command. He stands with a slight forward tilt of the shoulders that suggests perpetual attention; his gait is deliberate and measured. He wears a heavy, embroidered mantle that rustles like dried leaves and a travel-stained tabard beneath it. When he laughs his left hand tends to trace the rim of his signet ring without thinking. Unexpectedly, when he is relaxed among close friends he shucks the mantle and walks barefoot on stone as if testing the world like a child. This contradiction — ceremonious in public, footloose and blunt in private — unsettles servants and endears him to sailors.
“Measured, with clipped vowels from his regional upbringing; he uses vivid metaphors from the sea and field, and occasionally drops a proverb in the old tongue to underline a point. He favors short declarative sentences in council but expands into storytelling when calming crowds.”

Distinguishing Features
A faded diagonal scar across the right cheek, thin and always concealed by a deliberate three-day stubble pattern
The braided grey strand in his hair sealed with a red thread — a promise to a lost comrade
A small burn mark on the inner wrist from placing his hand over a brazier to hide a shiver
Voice
“Low, even, and gravel-tinged from years of shouting across docks and battlefields; carries a hushed intensity when making promises.”
Clothing
A stitched woolen doublet beneath a scarred leather cuirass, a crimson mantle embroidered with the kingdom’s leaping stag in silver thread, travel-worn boots, and a simple iron circlet engraved with an old oath — practical finery that blends courtly symbols with battlefield readiness.
Body Language
Reserved posture in council, hands often resting on the pommel of his sword; when at ease he removes boots and props one knee over the other, revealing a childlike comfort with bare feet.
