Vharun Kethrys
Fighter (Veteran / Mentor)
Vharun Kethrys
Species
Dragonborn (Brass heritage)
Appearance
Vharun moves like someone who knows how to fill a doorway and how to clear one quickly. He is broad-shouldered and barrel-chested from years of armor and hauling casks, but his movements are economical rather than bulky. His scales have a matte, sandblasted sheen—brassy yellow warmed to amber at the joints—scarred by a dozen small nick-marks and a prominent gadetooth-sized gouge across his left forearm that never quite healed smooth. He keeps one horn trimmed short at a slant (a mark of shame in his youth) and the other horn long and polished. He favors a heavy, dark leather apron over simple linen tunics; when he walks, the apron thuds softly and leaves a faint smell of roasted barley and citrus smoke. Unexpectedly, he wears a child's red woven ribbon tied to his apron strap: frayed, knotted in a way no soldier would approve. That ribbon is the only bright thing in his otherwise practical attire.
“Measured, gravelly, with short sentences; uses military metaphors and old Jägers slang. Softens into near-whisper when sharing painful memories, and becomes crisp and clipped when administering rules.”

Distinguishing Features
Prominent gouge-scar across left forearm that has a faint ridge
Left horn trimmed at an angle while right horn is long and polished
Small child's red woven ribbon tied to apron strap
Calloused, ink-stained fingers from ledger-keeping and map notes
Voice
“Low and gravelly with a soft rasp; carries an accent molded by Kelemvaar's cadence—hard consonants, clipped vowels. Laughs rarely, but the laugh is a short, surprised bark.”
Clothing
Wool tunics in muted greens and browns; a leather brewing apron with pockets and scorch marks; sturdy travel boots; a faded Jägers sash folded into the inn's ledger drawer; a simple iron ring at a chain around his neck.
Body Language
Controlled and compact: stands with shoulders squared, often has forearms on the bar; fingers habitually find the same notches on the counter. When troubled, he stares at his trimmed horn and rubs the gouge on his forearm.
