Nedra Torvik
Commoner (customized veteran innkeeper)
Nedra Torvik
Species
Lightfoot Halfling
Appearance
Weathered like driftwood that has been polished and not sanded. Nedra has a face mapped by tiny lines that spider from the corners of her eyes and mouth. Her hands are broad and callused with oil-dark crescents under fingernails from repairing barrels and ships. She moves with pragmatic economy; a step is placed only where needed, a pause long enough to measure a person, and then forward. Her shoulders are squared against wind and insult alike. Unexpected element: she wears a delicate silver chain with a tiny carved whale tooth at her throat, an oddly elegant thing against her otherwise utilitarian bearing.
“Curt and efficient with strangers, softening to clipped warmth for friends; uses nautical idioms often..”

Distinguishing Features
Tiny salt-crusted scar along her left eyebrow
Callused hands with oil-dark fingernails
Silver whale tooth pendant
Voice
“Rough, low for a halfling, with the rasp of long exposure to wind and salt; laughs rarely but the sound is warm and sudden when it comes.”
Clothing
Sturdy oilcloth coat, patched linen shirt, heavy breeches with hidden pockets, an apron stained by brine and stew, low boots with reinforced toes. Always has a leather glove tucked into her belt and a twine-wrapped tankard hung from a loop.
Body Language
Calm, economical gestures. She uses her hands to measure space and the truth; when she is thinking she rubs the seam of her left thumb with her right thumb as if tracing a rope knot.
