Caelen Denevar
Paladin
Caelen Denevar
Species
Half-Elf
Appearance
Tall and upright with the lithe grace of his elven side and the broad shoulders of his human kin. He moves like a man used to both courts and stables, with deliberate small steps and a habit of angling his body to keep his shield between him and others. His chain mail has been mended in several places with mismatched thread and leather straps, and his shield bears the faded sigil of a small coastal temple. Unexpectedly, tucked into the rim of his helmet is a child's carved wooden bird that bobs when he walks, the paint worn smooth by decades of handling. His smile is quick but rarely reaches both eyes at once.
“Measured, with the clipped vowels common to coastal traders; often uses nautical metaphors.”

Distinguishing Features
Small carved wooden bird tied inside his helmet that bobs when he moves
A faded temple sigil tattooed behind his left shoulder
Crow's-feet only around his left eye, as if he smiles with one side more often
Voice
“Low and steady, with a wind-roughened edge when he grows tired”
Clothing
Chain mail over a worn blue tunic, leather boots polished unevenly, travel cloak with a hidden inner pocket sewn with the merchant house stitch of his sister's family
Body Language
Often rests a hand on his shield as if feeling its steadiness. When nervous he taps the wooden bird's head. When lying he smooths the inside seam of his gauntlet unconsciously.
