Kipp Rootmud
Wilderness Trickster
Kipp Rootmud
Species
Gnome
Appearance
A compact, wiry gnome with streaks of mud baked into his hair and skin. He wears a battered, pointy hat that is several shades too bright for the forest and smells faintly of smoked fish. His hair is braided into tiny, uneven plaits threaded with thorns and bits of tin. He moves like a small animal: sudden, low, and always aware of the ground beneath his feet. Unexpectedly, his hands are meticulous and clean beneath the dirt, nails trimmed and a tiny, carefully folded scrap of paper tucked under his thumbnail.
“Gravelly and clipped, uses short metaphors and misnames things playfully; often punctuates sentences with a soft chuckle.”

Distinguishing Features
Pointy, patched hat with a hanging rusty bell
Thin white scar across left eyebrow from a barbed wire encounter
Tiny clockwork charm sewn into his hat lining
Voice
“A thin, slightly rasping voice with quick bursts and a habit of chuckling mid-sentence”
Clothing
A mismatched patchwork of scavenged fabrics: a moss-green tunic frayed at the edges, leather scraps stitched with bright thread, and a comically pointy hat patched with animal hide and faded guild cloth. Beneath the hat sits an old, carefully stitched lining of a clockmaker's scrap to absorb sweat.
Body Language
Crouched shoulders, constant small twitches like a squirrel's scanning of surroundings; when comfortable he props his hat and sprawls on his back, legs crossed.
