Ogmaren Veyl
Species
Half-Elf
Appearance
Ogmaren moves like someone used to standing beside podiums and narrow boats — deliberate, balanced, and with a slight, constant pivot of the hips as if ready to consult a scroll. He wears a sleeveless scholar's tabard layered over a padded gambeson; the tabard's embroidered sigil is a single stylized quill crossed with a lute. His left forearm is wrapped in faded ledger strips stained with ink and wine; his right hand bears a band of small runic scars in a spiral. He keeps a small brass monocle on a ribbon that he clicks into place when reading; the monocle's lens has a faint, star-like chip. Against the scholarly austerity, there's an odd, contradictory flourish: a bright crimson silk scarf tied around his neck in a sailor's knot, frayed at the ends, smelling faintly of riverwater and citrus. When he walks his fingers tap rhythms on whatever surface is near, like a man testing the world for a hidden cadence.
“Measured and melodic, Ogmaren speaks with the soft lilt of the river-port trade and the crisp enunciation of a teacher. He peppers exposition with old proverbs and will sometimes quote a line of song or scripture at surprising moments.”

Distinguishing Features
Spiral runic scars on his right hand that faintly glow when he prays
Brass monocle with a star-chipped lens
Crimson silk scarf incongruous with his scholarly dress
Small pressed wildflowers tucked into his satchel, always dry and perfectly preserved
Voice
“Soft, resonant tenor — confident but not booming; cadence quickens when excited or lecturing.”
Clothing
Layered practical garb: a padded leather gambeson beneath a scholar's tabard, travel-worn breeches, soft leather boots fitted for riverbanks, a crimson silk scarf, fingerless gloves stained with ink, and a weathered leather satchel covered in cataloging tags and pressed flowers.
Body Language
Tends to stand squared and slightly back on his heels; when thinking he tilts his head and taps his thumb against his palm in a pattern; he touches his scarf when nervous.
