Tall and raw-boned with a permanent sunburned flush around his collar and face. He walks with a rolling, predatory gait that looks careless but is always balanced at the hips. His greatsword hangs across his back in a battered leather harness crossed with a strip of red cloth. Scars crisscross his forearms, one pale half-moon notch at his throat where a hunting spear missed; his left cheek sports a shallow, silvered ridge left from a knife. Unexpectedly neat braids bind the ends of his long hair behind his head like a craftsman's submission, and he keeps a small carved wooden bird tied to his belt that he smooths absently when thinking. When still he seems smaller than his movements promise; when he begins to move he fills the space with loud, deliberate presence.
