Ares Varok-Delm
Fighter (Champion)
Ares Varok-Delm
Species
Half-Orc
Appearance
Ares is a mountain of controlled motion: broad shoulders set on a narrow waist, his stance a ledger of discipline. His ceremonial plate fits like a second skin — not flamboyant but immaculate, every joint burnished and every edge engraved with thin bands of Old Imperial script bearing oaths and dates. His greatsword, Balance Rendered, hangs from a scabbard that shows more repair than shine: leather straps replaced, a loop where a medal once was. When he walks, the soft clink of plate and the metal-scented breeze precede him; when he stands, crowds unconsciously step back as if the air itself respects his radius. Unexpectedly, his left forearm is scarred in a woven lattice that shimmers faintly in moonlight — an ancestral tattoo of his orcish line that glows like hot iron only when he is near death or has sworn a dark oath.
“Measured, formal, few contractions. Prefers concise sentences and often answers questions by reframing them as duties.”

Distinguishing Features
Woven lattice scar on left forearm that faintly glows under duress
A vertical white scar down his right cheek from a capture duel
Old Imperial oath-etchings along the rim of his pauldrons
Callused, ink-stained fingers from copying verdicts and battle plans
Voice
“Low, resonant baritone that rarely strains; measured cadence. Emotion breaks through as a quiet, tremulous undercurrent rather than loud outbursts.”
Clothing
Ceremonial plate inlaid with regiment marks, a heavy travel cloak of slate-blue wool lined with fox fur for cold nights, a scarred leather gorget engraved with his family's sigil, and a simple iron signet bearing both the Empress' crest and his mother's judicial rune.
Body Language
Rigid, deliberate gestures; a single nod replaces a paragraph of assent. When troubled he closes his fingers into a ring over his heartplate and breathes slowly.
