Halvar Thorsen
Fighter
Halvar Thorsen
Species
Human (Norse-descended)
Appearance
A broad-shouldered man whose presence reads like a weathered rune carved into oak: heavy, dependable, and a little mossy. Halvar walks with the slow, measured step of someone used to keeping watch, each movement economical and purposeful. His beard is braided in the old soldier's three-knot style, but one braid is tied with a bright green ribbon from the temple — an odd, soft splash of color against the grey of his hair and the iron of his armor. His hands are puckered with tiny white scars like fish scales, and the palm of his right hand bears a crescented scar that follows the shape of a priest's chalice — a souvenir from his last campaign. When he moves, he sometimes hums an unplaceable low chant under his breath; at unexpected moments he will stop and read the carvings on stone doorframes as if recalling old comrades. He smells faintly of iron, pine smoke, and beeswax from the temple's lamps.
“Gravelly and measured, often ending sentences with a small chuckle. Uses short, folk-wise proverbs and sometimes slips into old clan idioms.”

Distinguishing Features
Three-knot braided beard with one bright green ribbon
Crescent-shaped scar on the right palm
Tiny white 'scale' scars on both hands
Left eye with a small amber fleck
Voice
“Low, hoarse from years of shouting over winds and battle orders, but steady — the kind of voice you trust in a sudden night alarm.”
Clothing
A scratched leather jerkin beneath a short-sleeved iron cuirass, a heavy wool cloak with the temple's sigil stitched in green over the left breast, roughspun trousers, and high leather boots shined but dented. He keeps a hooded wool cap tucked into his belt. Beneath his armor he wears a faded woven tunic bearing the colours of his old clan — a half-hidden reminder of a life before vows.
Body Language
Stands square and faces people directly; rarely crosses arms. When nervous he fingers the braided beard. During argument he plants his shield and speaks with his whole body.
