Thura Grell-Ebonspur
Beastmaster
Thura Grell-Ebonspur
Species
Dwarf
Appearance
Short and compact, Thura moves like a coiled spring: deliberate, quick, and never wasteful of motion. Her hair is braided into a single black plait threaded with leather ties and a few talon-shaped iron beads — trophies from mounts she's raised. Scars lace her forearms and ribs in silvery, raised lines; a jagged crescent mark across her left brow is crimson where an old strike never quite healed flat. Her hands are callused and oil-dark, always smelling faintly of leather and pine resin. She wears a battered helm strapped at her hip, though she prefers hooded cloaks; the hood's inner lining is embroidered with tiny silhouettes of beasts she has bred. Contradiction: despite the hard, utilitarian tack she favors, Thura insists on a single silk sash, faded sea-green, knotted at her waist — a soft, almost tender remnant of a person she refuses to let be forgotten.
“Gruff, clipped sentences with dry humor and occasional old dwarven idioms. Uses animal-training metaphors in everyday speech ('steady the flank', 'feed the temper').”

Distinguishing Features
Jagged crescent scar across left brow
Talon marks (deep grooves) along right forearm — from a gryphling that never forgave her
Single braided beard with iron-talon beads
A small silver bell sewn into her sash that jingles once when she laughs
Voice
“Low, gravelly contralto; quick to bark a laugh or let silence hang heavy. The cadence slows when she speaks of the eyrie.”
Clothing
Thick leather jerkin layered over chain links, heavy riding breeches, fur-lined boots with iron toes, a patched green sash, and a hooded travel cloak. Leather straps and loops for tools and treats run across her chest.
Body Language
Hands always near her beasts or tools; stands with feet apart and weight forward as if braced against a charging mount. Tilts head and studies faces like animals when deciding to trust.
