Keale possesses a frame that resembles an old, sturdy pier: weathered, salt-stained, and deceptively strong. His skin is deeply tanned and lined from decades of river sun, smelling perpetually of fresh cedar shavings and boiled linseed oil. He moves with a rhythmic, rolling gait as if the ground beneath him is always pitching in a gentle swell. Surprisingly, despite his rough exterior and hands thick with callouses, he wears a pair of delicate silver spectacles when carving, which he keeps on a fine silk cord around his neck.
