He moves with an efficient, purposeful gait, toes and heels rarely striking the ground with the same weight, as if he counts steps in his head. When still he tilts his head in a way that makes his left eye squint, which makes him seem kinder and cunning at once. The unexpected element is a small, hand-stitched child's ribbon tied to the end of his tail, bright sky-blue and improbably clean.
