Baldric is a mountain of a dwarf, standing four feet five inches but nearly as wide. His skin is the texture of coarse sandstone, weathered by decades of proximity to extreme heat. He moves with a slow, tectonic deliberate-ness that makes the floorboards groan. Contradicting his massive, soot-stained hands is a pair of delicate, gold-rimmed spectacles he wears on the tip of his nose for fine engraving work. His beard is a dense thicket of charcoal-grey, meticulously braided with iron rings that chime like small bells when he moves. He smells permanently of coal smoke, quenched steel, and expensive tobacco.
