Kharun Stonewhelm
Barbarian (Berserker/Frenzied)
Kharun Stonewhelm
Species
Goliath
Appearance
Kharun stands like a carved cliff—broad-shouldered and immovable until he moves, at which point he becomes sudden and violent. His skin has the pale granite mottling common to his people, but a thin, jagged pale scar runs from temple to jaw on the left side of his face, where the stone pattern is interrupted by a darker, almost glassy streak. He wears his braided hair in a single heavy queue bound with iron rings taken from enemy armor; stray white hairs sparkle near his temples. When he walks he shifts weight on the balls of his feet as if ready to uproot a tree; when he smiles it feels like a sun cracking through a mountain cloud—rare but warming. Contradictorily, despite his immediate presence and hulking size, he carefully tends a tiny clay whistle tied to his belt and blows it to call his younger cousins from a distance. The whistle's sound is fragile and high; it suits nothing about him but lives there anyway.
“Kharun's speech is clipped and earthy, using metaphors of rock, weather, and weight. He speaks slowly when making promises and abruptly when angry.”

Distinguishing Features
Jagged pale scar (temple to jaw) with glassy streak
Braided single queue with iron rings
Tiny clay whistle on his belt (fragile, clearly treasured)
Left shoulder bears a chipped totemic rune in faded blue paint
Voice
“Low and rasping like wind over rock, able to boom into thunder when enraged; vowels are broad and clipped, with the faint click of mountain dialect consonants.”
Clothing
Worn leather straps over salted pelts and a heavy travel cloak patched in many places; a fur-lined sash bearing the carved bone of a passed chief; boots reinforced with boiled hide and thorned iron plates. He prefers functional, battle-scarred garments rather than ornamentation.
Body Language
Moves with a slow clearing of space: sets his feet deliberately, breathes as if counting, and grips his weapon with both hands when listening intently. He tends to lean into a listener’s space as a way of showing trust.
