Basil Balfor
Druid (Circle of the Harvest)
Basil Balfor
Species
Harengon
Appearance
Basil is a compact, spring-legged Harengon with moss-greened fur flecked with pale wheat-colored streaks that run like fields across his shoulders and down his forearms. His left ear is nicked twice and wrapped in braided barley stalks; the right ear is studded with tiny charms made from acorn caps. He walks with a quick, staccato gait that shifts into a fluid, almost gliding motion when he enters his harvest form. His hands are callused from wielding scythes and from digging roots, and a faint lattice of lichen-like scars runs from his left temple down his neck — remnants of where divine light turned him to stone. Unexpectedly, when he is very still and listening, the air around him smells faintly of turned earth and newly baked bread, a contradictory, homely aura to offset his wild look.
“Speaks in short, melodic sentences with agricultural metaphors — 'If you sow fear, you reap rot' — often softening harsh truths with gentle humor. Uses many rural aphorisms, sometimes archaic Therosian turns of phrase.”

Lichen-patterned stone scars from the petrification incident
Braided barley stalks wound into left ear
Patchwork straw cloak that rustles like a field
Small acorn-cap charms on a chain across his chest
Voice
“Low, quick, and slightly husky with a rural Therosian lilt; quickens into clipped bursts in combat and softens into slow cadence during ritual or comfort.”

A patched leather jerkin over a heavy hemp tunic, knee guards braided from reeds, a cloak of harvested straw that rustles faintly like a field in wind, and worn traveling boots with soft, springy soles fitted for hopping. He wears a simple iron ring on his right paw—dull, scratched, and covered by a wrapped leather band—bearing Karametra's subtle grain motif.

Hops or shifts weight on his hind feet when thinking; opens palms to show nonaggression; grips scythe with a steady, practiced hold when threatened.
