Marrowcap Vell
Species
Fungus Leshy
Appearance
A squat, humanoid figure made of congealed mycelium and soft mushroom caps. Their torso looks braided like rope, pale beige threads curling into darker brown plates that resemble bark. Clusters of miniature coral mushrooms grow along one shoulder and curl into a lantern-like shape over their head. Their movement is surprisingly fluid for something made of fungi; when they walk their root-like toes slither and then plant again with a faint suction sound. Contradiction: where most leshys look completely plantlike, this one has a pair of humanlike, callused hands with short fingernails—not enough to be fully prehensile but used for careful work, which unnerves those who expect an entirely unhuman form.
“Speaks slowly with rootlike metaphors; voice often smells faintly of damp earth when speaking closely.”

Slow, deliberate gestures, as if each movement is another thread woven into a larger pattern; taps or presses parts of their torso when thinking.
