Halvar Rennic
Scout-Protector
Halvar Rennic
Species
Human (Borderfolk)
Appearance
Halvar stands in a dual-pose presence: the right-side stance is coiled and vigilant, weight on his back foot, shortbow string faintly taut; the left-side pose is softer, one hand braced on a tree root, watching a distant ridge. His face is angular with a long scar running from left eyebrow down to cheek, the skin along the scar puckered and paler. He moves with the quiet economy of someone used to slipping between trees. His skin often smells faintly of pine resin. Unexpectedly, he keeps a childlike brass toy soldier tucked into the inner pocket of his jerkin, polished until it gleams. The mix of grim survivalism and a small domestic tenderness gives him a contradictory air: severe and kindly at once.
“Low-voiced and plainspoken. Tends to soften consonants when relaxed and picks up local cadence when calming children or elders.”

Distinguishing Features
Puckered scar from left eyebrow to cheek
Tiny brass toy soldier in inner jerkin pocket
Stag patch on left sleeve
Voice
“A low, even baritone with a faint rasp at the edges when he has been shouting or breathing hard”
Clothing
A faded leather jerkin layered over a patched wool tunic, hooded cloak lined with rough fur at the collar, leather bracers with small sewn pockets. The left sleeve has a hand-stitched patch showing a stylized stag. His trousers are reinforced at the knees and tucked into soft leather boots caked with mud and a permanent dusting of northern ash.
Body Language
Halvar keeps his shoulders low and limbs relaxed but ready. He roots his weight like a stalking animal when listening. When surprised he tilts his head slightly and narrows his eyes instead of shouting.
