Species

Appearance
Young and liminal, Marta moves like someone used to leaning over a loom. Her shoulders carry the small permanent twist from years of pushing a shuttle back and forth. Skin dusted with fine flax fibers that cling to her clothes and hair, she has callused fingertips taped in places from recent rope burns. Her left forearm bears a faint lattice of pale scars from a snafu with hot dye. Unexpectedly elegant are the tiny woven braids she ties into the underside of her hair, each braid finished with a pale bead stolen from her captors and threaded into a hidden pattern that matches an old HighCross tapestry.
“Softly spoken with a clear, deliberate cadence. Uses short weaving metaphors and hums local chants when nervous.”

Clothing
A faded linen shift patched with strips of goblin cloth, a thin wool shawl braided into tassels she uses as makeshift restraints or signals, and a narrow leather belt with a loop that holds her shuttle. Hidden in a hem is a slim scrap of HighCross blue.
Body Language
Hands almost always busy, fingers twitching as if weaving even when idle. She hunches to make herself small in new rooms but straightens suddenly when a loom or cloth appears.
