Voren moves with the easy poise of someone who has practiced both charm and menace. He favors a half-smile that softens the angles of his strong jaw. His shadow blade is never far from his side and sometimes seems to ripple independently of his movements. When he laughs it is quick and a little sharp; when he concentrates a faint purple mist gathers at the corner of his eyes. Unexpectedly, Voren keeps a battered children's wooden toy tucked into an inner pocket, a carved horse he sometimes rubs absentmindedly when he is troubled.
